Design system
This website uses PatternFly, Red Hat's open-source design system. All colours are drawn from the flag of Vancouver:
Logo
From 1999 to 2026, VanLUG used an unmodified Tux by Larry Ewing, Simon Budig and Garrett LeSage as its icon, paired with a stylized mountain logo created by Ben Holt.
The current icon, adopted in 2026, is a modified Tux Flat SVG by gg3po and Iwan Gabovitch (based on NewTux.svg by gg3po, itself based on the original Tux.png by Larry Ewing) with the wavy stripes of the Vancouver flag added to the belly. It is licensed under the GNU GPL v2 or later. The full logo pairs the icon with the “VanLUG / Vancouver Linux User Group” wordmark.
