KubeCon Showcases the Power of Community-Driven Inclusion.
KubeCon 2025 demonstrated that change is possible when communities unite.
KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2025 wasn’t just about cutting-edge cloud native technologies; it was a testament to the growing power of community-driven inclusion initiatives within the cloud native community. Attendees were able to see the progress made by community groups, the tangible impact of allyship, and the importance of creating inclusive spaces.
It’s no secret that the open source community, like the broader tech industry, struggles with inclusion. Fostering inclusive communities is not just morally right, but strategically important. Studies consistently demonstrate that diverse teams produce better outcomes, leading to more innovative and robust software. However, despite numerous initiatives, a gap remains. And as corporate DEI efforts scale back, community-driven change becomes even more important. And that’s where you come in.
KubeCon was proof of the impact community groups can have with the right support. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Working Group (DHHWG) demonstrated the transformative potential of focused advocacy.
