Linux on Meteor Lake Runs 33% Faster

Among the improvements made during Intel’s Meteor Lake launch was an incredible jump in power and efficiency for their integrated graphics. The Arc graphics inside the latest Intel CPU perform better than those competing Radeon 780M iGPUs of AMD. This is perhaps first time that this memory comes to an all-time high with integrated graphics like AMD!

Think about this, how much work is Intel’s Meteor Lake integrated graphics compared to past generations? Phoronix sought out the answers to that question and published it in form of a set for 3gp test results from five Intel laptops, each with different numbers. In Linux the tests were totally automated.

The GPU testing discussed here isn’t quite as thorough, but it was still an excellent result of the AMD iGPU evolution from late 2018 to end 2023.

We’ll include two crucial graphics from Phoronix testing: one for power consumption of every CPU at the test, and another with geomean average all tests results combined according to each processor. I’ll discuss the different types of games and synthetic benchmarks we use, with full results available from original source if needed.
